Frankie W. Smith, 75, of Marble Hill, passed away March 7, 2020 at his home. He was born April 17, 1944 in Osceola, AR, the son of Frank and Earlene Johnson Smith.
Frankie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Military Police Officer. He served as deputy sheriff and detective for both Cape Girardeau City and Cape Girardeau County for 12 years.
Later he became a row crop farmer and cattle farmer with his father. He was a past board member of M.F.A in Advance. Frankie was a former President of the Bollinger County Coop Board. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Clubb Creek General Baptist Church.
Most of all he was a devoted husband, father and grandpa who loved his family dearly.
Frankie and Cheryl Riddle were united in marriage on June 8, 1968 in Bertrand, Mo and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: his wife, Cheryl Smith a daughter, Krystal (Kevin) Stroup of Marble Hill two grandchildren, Lane (Landrie Criddle) Stroup of Marble Hill and Michael (Kara) Britton of Whitehouse, TN four great-grandchildren three brothers, Jim Smith of Jackson, MO , Calvin Smith of Cape Girardeau and Keith Woodsy Smith of Advance a special little boy who he thought of as a grandson, Waylon Green and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents a son, Eric Blaine Smith a grandson, Landon Stroup and a sister, Pat Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Weds. March 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Chris Jordan and Rev. Kevin Stroup officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
