Bertha Irene Gloth, 86, of Jackson, MO, passed away May 30, 2021 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born June 11, 1934 in Whitewater, the daughter of William Louis and Edith Irene Snider Gloth.
Bertha had been the head cook at Deals Nursing Home in Jackson for 42 years. She was an active member of the Delta First Baptist Church and part of the church quilting group.
She had numerous hobbies including cooking, traveling, bowling, hand embroidery, crafting, quilting and decorating for every holiday. She was gifted at turning plastic canvases into angels, Christmas villages, holiday dcor and holders for childrens crayons.
Survivors include: a brother, Harold Gloth of Whitewater a sister, Dorothy Stevens of Whitewater four nieces, Lorene Bachfish of Benton, MO, Linda Putz of Millersville, Melissa Schulte of Troy and Patricia Ackman of Whitewater and a nephew, Russ Gloth of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her parents seven brothers, George Gloth, Emory Gloth, Paul Eugene Gloth, Clarence Gloth, Cletus Gloth, Cornelius Gloth and Arthur Gloth and three sisters, Velma Friedrich, Alma Gloth and Zelma Gloth.
Visitation will be held on Thursday June 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Randy Conn officiating. Burial will follow at Passover Cemetery near Whitewater, MO.
