Celestine August Martin (C.A. Martin), 91, passed away Tuesday, April 8th, 2019, at St. Francis hospital. He was born November 27th, 1927, the son of William Albert and Anna Martin.
C.A. was drafted into the U.S. Army in December 1950. He went through basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, and was then shipped to Korea. He was a member of the following organizations, Knights of Columbus (4th Degree Knight and past Grand Knight), Town Council, Parish Council, Advance Industrial Board, School Board, Fire Department, Lions Club and Little League.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of 61 years of the home. Also survived by one sister Mary Wubker of St. Peters, MO. Together he and Wilma had two sons James Martin (Jan) of Montreal, MO, Ronnie Martin (Karen) of Advance, MO. They had 4 daughters Celeste Martin of Advance, MO, Linda Rainey (Dennis) of Kennett, MO, Barbara Bartels (Larry) of Whitewater, MO, Lisa Asmus (Shawn) of Jackson, MO.
They have 15 grandchildren Kate Martin, Eric Martin (Becca), Peter Martin, Michaela and, Megan Martin, Valerie Martin (Matthew Morgan), Sister John Mary Rainey, Matt Rainey (Allison), Rachel Bartels (Brandon Licare), Renae Bartels (Trey Schloss), Robert Bartels, Jordan, Monica, Kolbe, and Lauren Asmus. There are 2 great grand children Lane Schloss, Emmett Martin, and one on the way, Colton Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother Albert, and infant sister Genevieve Valerie, and 5 other sisters Albertine Fisher (Hubert), Cecelia Elfrink (Ted), Grace Hodge, Martha Martin, and Catherine Lancour (Chuck).
The visitation will be Tuesday April 9th, from 5-8 pm at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO. Parish prayers and Knights of Columbus Rosary beginning at 5 pm. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday April 10th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, MO at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund.
