Carl Edgar Cockrell, 81, of Bell City, MO passed away October 22, 2019 at his home. He was born April 24, 1938, the son of John Gilbert and Wilma Wheatley Cockrell.
Carl had worked for over 20 years for Cotton Belt Railroad. He spent many years working as a horse trainer. He enjoyed spending his time horseback riding.
Carl and Clara Stovall were united in marriage in 1956 at Bell City and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2018.
Survivors include: two daughters, Karen (Ray) Davis of Bell City and Debbie Kennedy of Bell City two brothers, Robert Cockrell of Poplar Bluff and David Cockrell of Puxico three sisters, Wanda Cockrell and Johnnie Latham, both of Aquila and Betty Cockrell of Dexter a granddaughter, Allisha Hitt of OFallon, MO and two great-granddaughters, Kyla and Addy Hitt, both of OFallon, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Clara Cockrell a brother, Richard Cockrell and two sisters, Barb Gardner and Wilda Ramsey.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 25, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Sue Wilborn officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
