Charles U. Jackson, 91, of Advance, passed away on January 16, 2023, at his home. He was born February 15, 1931 in Wayne County, MO, the son of Luther F. and Kathleen Stilts Jackson.
Charles was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean war. For 38 years he had been a printer operator at International Paper Company in St. Louis.
He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. Several generations of his family have been Masons.
Charles enjoyed coon hunting and was a dedicated father and grandfather.
Survivors include: four daughters, Debi (Barry) Lingle of Zalma, Linda (Randy) Schrader of Advance, Vicky Jackson of Advance and Sheri (Scott Lemons) Slemmer of Zalma seven grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren and his long-time companion, Jackie Scherer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beulah Hughes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A Masonic service will be held at 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Leeman Shirrell and Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will follow at McGee New Hope Cemetery in McGee, MO with a Military Rites service.
