Janettie Marie Speer, 84, of Advance, passed away February 22, 2024, at Southeast Mercy Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born June 6, 1939, in Fisk, MO, the daughter of Frank Keith and Marie Jones OHare.
For 20 years Janettie had worked at the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance. She then worked at the Rapco Factory in Advance. Later she worked for several years as the manager of the Advance Eagles. She had also been employed at Town and Country in Advance.
Janettie was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. She was known for her feisty personality. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren.
Janettie and Sunny Speer were united in marriage on December 24, 1964, and he preceded her in death on October 31, 1983.
Survivors include: three sons, Jerry (Tammy) Clifton of Arcadia, FL, Terry (Linda) Clifton of St. Louis and Gary (Theresa) Clifton of Advance a daughter, Carol Currie of Saginaw, MI stepson, Mike Speer of Eddyville, KY five grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a daughter, Elizabeth Clifton a stepdaughter, Rhonda Speer and a grandson, Bradly Clifton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Larry Tolbert. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
