Cecil Dean Veale, 89, of Advance, passed away June 7, 2019 at his home. He was born August 24, 1929 in Union Star, MO. Born the sixth of eight children to Franklin D. and Cecelia Maude Trimble Veale.
Cecil was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. He was a man of strong faith. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force from 1946-1967. During his military career he served during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Kansas City, Labrador, Albuquerque, Kansas City, Anchorage, Texarkana and Kansas City.
Upon his retirement from the U.S. military Cecil moved to Advance where he became a farmer. Cecil never met a stranger and had a gift for storytelling. He had a love for Bluegrass music.
Cecil and Verna Lee Eggimann were united in marriage on June 5, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL. They had four children Frank Veale of Arlington, TX, Gail (Rodney) Redman of East Prairie, Ronnie (Kim) Veale of Advance and Patti (Jerry) Stageman of Jacksonville, FL.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, a sister, Francis Fox of Cole Camp, MO, his four children, six grandchildren Bronson Veale, Michelle (Seokho) Redman Moon, Elizabeth Veale, Aaron Veale, Monica (Ismail) VeYes and Angela Veale, step-grandson, Darrell (Natalie) Haney and children and step-granddaughter, Sarah Flores and children, Andrew, Victor and Lauren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Cody Redman, granddaughter, Felicia Veale, four brothers, Garold, Harold, Clayton and Delbert Veale and two sisters, Alice Cole and Donna Barker.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Weds. June 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville, MO with Pastor Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Gordonville with full military honors.
