Michael Lynn Walk, born April 19, 1963, in Advance, Missouri, to Nathan Milford Walk & Phyllis Rogers Walk, went to his eternal home on April 8, 2024, at the age of 60. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Walk, of McGee, MO, three children, Thad Walk (& Stephanie) of McGee, MO, Cassandra Dowell (& Anthony) of Gipsy, MO, and Linsey Birk (& Aaron) of Cape Girardeau, MO, two brothers, Charles Eddie Walk and Kendall Walk both of McGee, MO, and one sister, Margaret Gardner (& Steve) of Rogers, AR, and six grandchildren, Alex Walk, Blake Walk, Paisley Walk, Joel Dowell, Ezra Dowell and Micah Dowell. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Milford Walk & Phyllis Walk.
Mike and Sheila Strickland were united in marriage on September 17, 1983 in Lowndes, MO.
Mike was a faithful follower of Christ, as a member and teacher at Corinth General Baptist Church and later became a member of Westwood Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Mike was a storyteller who loved life, which was reflected in each story he told. His hobbies are hunting, fishing, music and his 1974 Ford Maverick. Mike was a caring neighbor and a staple in the McGee community.
Family meant the world to Mike. For those who knew him in his younger years knew he stayed close to home, loved fishing with his children, driving around looking for deer or playing baseball. In the past few years he has enjoyed taking trips farther away, from day hiking trips with Sheila, chasing waterfalls and getting lost to seeing the ocean for the first time, Grand Canyon, three of the Great Lakes and the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. He treasured every moment with his family. He gave the best hugs, was a great listener and always found a way to make you feel loved and important.
Mike had been the owner and operator of Mike Walk Farm and Timber in McGee, MO. He had also been a cattle farmer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, MO. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel with Rev. Larry Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at McGee New Hope Cemetery in McGee, MO.
