Patsy Umfleet, 80, of Advance, MO, passed away June 28, 2024, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 15, 1944, at Bell City, MO, the daughter of Herman and Iva Workman Liggett.

Patsy retired after working many years at Tetra-Pak in Sikeston. She was a member of the Bell City United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed spending her time gardening, tending to her flowers, cooking, playing cards and dominos. Patsy was a caregiver to her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Patsy and Donald Umfleet were united in marriage on October 6, 1983, in Bell City, MO and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2022.

Survivors include: a son, John Wesley (Betsy Wrenn) Wright, Jr. of Walls, MS, two daughters, Kimberly D. Elliott of Advance and Teresa R. Mason of Bell City, a step-son, Terry (Sonya Watkins) Umfleet of Advance, a brother, Marlin (Joyce) Liggett of St. Louis, a sister, Juanita (Jerry) Fisher of Dexter, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a step-daughter, Donna Garner, a brother, Jerry Liggett, three sisters, Zilpha Abernathy, Linda Schroeder, and Barbara Earlene Merrick.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
