Mildred F. Borders, 93, of Gipsy, MO, passed away May 1, 2021 at her daughters home near Zalma. Mildred was born November 9, 1927 at Zalma, the daughter of Clarence R. and Flossie M. Morland James.
Mildred spent most of her life as a homemaker. She had also worked at the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance for many years and later worked at the International Hat Factory in Marble Hill. She was a member of the Balch Pentecostal Church near Zalma. She had also attended Calvary Temple Church in Marble Hill for many of her final years.
Mildred enjoyed sewing and quilting. She made many baby quilts during her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Mildred and Silas Borders were united in marriage on November 4, 1943 at Zalma and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1995.
Survivors include: three sons, Rev. J.D. Borders of Hermiston, OR, John Borders of Gipsy and James Border of Coppers Cove, TX four daughters, Linda Burger of Chaffee, Ruth Carr of Zalma, Brenda Cookemboo of Portageville and Ruby Burchett of Zalma six brothers, Edward James of Warrenton, MO, Paul James of Hunnewell, MO, Eugene James of Cadet, MO, Roger Loughary of Jackson, MO, Russell Loughary of Advance and Gary Loughary of Michigan a sister, Bessie Welker of Marble Hill 14 grandchildren 41 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband three brothers three sisters a grandson and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Weds. May 5, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Rev. Leeman Shirrell, Rev. Richard Carr and Rev. J.D. Borders officiating. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
