Franklin Nathaniel McWhirter, Sr., 65, of Advance, passed away September 11, 2021 at the Advance Nursing Center. He was born June 16, 1956 in Kennett, MO, the son of Wilburn Thomas and Audie Bell Key McWhirter.
Frankie worked for Vaught Aircraft in Grand Prairie, TX for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the UAW Local #848. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams play the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. He loved watching his grandsons do MMA and being part of the Backwoods MMA team.
Survivors include: a daughter, Nancy (Michael) Sutterfield of Yellville, AR two sons, Franklin McWhirter and Steven McWhirter, both of Grand Prairie, TX a daughter-in-law, Brandi McWhirter of Gun Barrel City, TX 11 grandchildren four great-grandchildren nieces, Joann Ellison, Janet Dye, Jeanne Seeton, Patti Jeambey, Carol Kennedy and many more nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents seven brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held on Weds. September 15, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Pine City Cemetery in Holcomb, MO.
