Daniel Thomas Herter, 71, of Advance, MO, passed away June 22, 2022 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born June 30, 1950 in Alton, IL, the son of Thomas and Lucille Schmid Herter.
Daniel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Cape Girardeau, MO. He retired from the US Army and National Guard. He also worked various other jobs.
Daniel enjoyed spending time with lifelong partner, Angela Dunning and his best friend, Ozzy, his chocolate Labrador. He enjoyed watching football and golf with Angela, taking long walks with Ozzy, and spending time with family at the cabin. Daniels kind heart and selfless ways will be missed by many.
Survivors include a son, Ryan Herter of Chicago, IL a daughter, Rachel Herter of Chicago, IL a stepson, Benjamin (Ali) Anschultz of St. Charles, MO a stepdaughter, Chloe Anschultz of St. Charles, MO three brothers, Timothy (Kathy) Herter of The Villages, FL, Thomas (Victoria) Herter Jr. of Breaux Bridge, LA, and Stephen (Charmen) Herter of Astor, FL a sister, Melodie Menard of New Caney, TX
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, MO. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Rev. Ray Placher and Rev Fred Ritter will officiate. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Mo.
