John (Jack) Henry Ervin, II
Jack Ervin, 50, of Advance, MO, passed away on September 15, 2026, near Aniak Alaska, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories shared with family and friends.
Born February 6, 1976, in Cape Girardeau, MO to Ruth Kruse and John Ervin, Jack was a devoted husband, loving father, treasured son and brother, and a dependable friend to many.
Jack was a 1994 graduate of Advance High School. He was a journeyman electrician with IBEW Local 1 and was self-employed, owner of Pioneer Electric.
Jack and Tasha Kalish were married August 31, 2019, and spent more than 23 years together as loving partners.
Of all his accomplishments, being a husband and father is what Jack enjoyed most. He took great pride in his son, Henry, and loved sharing stories, playing outside, traveling, and making memories together. Jacks family was at the heart of his life, and his love for them was evident in all he did.
Jack was a lifelong outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and the simple joys of being outside. He appreciated a beautiful sunset and calm, cool evenings. He was also a talented artist, skilled mechanic, collector, and entrepreneur, with a lifelong interest in cars, sports, movies (which he often quoted), and history. The enjoyment he found in cooking a good meal was surpassed only by eating one. Jack was a young man with an old soul, and could find something to enjoy in any pursuit.
He took great pride in sharing his love of hunting with others, especially introducing youth and family to the outdoors. He enjoyed telling stories of his adventures and took pleasure in celebrating the success of those he took hunting.
Jack had an exceptional memory and could recall stories from his childhood and school days with remarkable detail. His storytelling was one of his greatest gifts, often bringing the past back to life and giving those around him a good laugh.
Known for his quick wit, strong opinions, and legendary comebacks, Jack had a unique sense of humor. He could make you laugh at yourself, even when you didnt want to, and he never hesitated to share his thoughts on how things should be done. His playful teasing and ability to give you a hard time were often his way of showing affection.
Jack was the person people turned to when they needed an answer, a helping hand, or someone they could count on. He had a generous spirit, a big heart, and a willingness to help others whenever he could. His friendships ran deep, and many of those he loved became family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Tasha, his son, Henry, his mother, Ruth Kruse and stepfather Richard Kruse, siblings Tonya Roper and Jackie (Michael) Hammond, nieces and nephews and countless close friends who consider him family.
He was preceded in death by his sister Tami McCollom and his father John Ervin.
Jack will be forever remembered for his unforgettable sense of humor, storytelling, generous heart, and the way he made people feel loved even when he was giving them a hard time. His memory lives on through the stories shared, laughs recalled, and lives touched.
Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, MO Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the chapel on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jeff Estes.
Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
