James Wade Gardner, 81, of Puxico, passed away February 24, 2023 at his home. He was born August 19, 1941, at Scott, Arkansas, the son of Samuel and Marjorie Wade Gardner.
Wade had been a self-employed mechanic for many years. Later he worked in the Millwright Local Union #716.
Wade enjoyed music and listening to ballgames on his radio in his shop. He loved his dog, Sassy.
Wade and Barbara Cockrell had been united in marriage and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1975.
Survivors include: two sons, James Jim Wade (Penny) Gardner, II of Titusville, NJ and Richard (Amy) Yoebstl of Puxico three daughters, April Vancil of Dexter, Lisa (Greg) Franklin of Puxico and Brenda (Mark) McIntyre of Dexter a brother, Billie Gardner of Batesville, AR. six grandchildren, Jeffrey Hull, Matthew (Katie) Franklin, Jordan (Alex) Cryts, Justin (Lindsey) Yoebstl, Samantha (Nick) Cryts, and Cole (Elisbeth) Yoebstl and five great-grandchildren, Evelynn, Kinley, Sandra, James and Emberly and a great-grandchild, Nora, one the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor Josh Reasons officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
