William Eddie Sifford, 77, of Puxico, passed away July 8, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born September 18, 1945, in Puxico, the son of William Bill Martin and Pauline Steinmeire Sifford.
Eddie was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He had over a 50-year career as a hog farmer and owned and operated Sifford Feed Mill.
He was a member of the Stoddard County Cowboy Church. He served on the bank board for First Midwest Bank. A VFW board member and former Post Commander. He was active in 4-H and an honorary member of the FFA. Eddie had been elected and served on the Puxico School Board for 17 years.
Eddie loved fishing. He also enjoyed coaching AAU basketball and baseball.
Eddie and Charlotte Scott were united in marriage on June 28, 1969, at Puxico and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte Sifford two sons, William Scott (Heather) Sifford of Puxico and Anthony W. (Kim) Sifford of Dexter a brother, Frank Sifford of Bloomfield two sister, Norma Sheets of Versailles, IN and Margaret Binford of Puxico four grandchildren, Bryce Sifford, Isabella Sifford, Carlie Sifford and Luke Conner and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Stoddard County Cowboy Church in Puxico. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Scott Sifford and Rev. Johnny Buttry officiating. Burial will follow at Puxico City Cemetery.
