Betty Lula Cookson Wilfong, 84, of Whitewater, passed away December 18, 2024, at her home. She was born September 22, 1940, in Stoddard County, MO, the daughter of James Lucas Howard and Ilene Greer Cookson.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delta. For over 30 years she had worked at Thorngate in Chaffee. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Betty and Kenneth Ray Wilfong were united in marriage on March 24, 1957, at Puxico and he survives of the home.
Survivors include: her husband, Kenneth, a son, Nathan Wilfong of Whitewater, two daughters, Brenda Strickland of Delta and Charlene Ross of Allenville, three sisters, Joann Belcher of Dexter, Christine Pennington of Bloomfield, and Julia Null of Wappappello, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her loving dog, Sissy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Avery and Donald Cookson, a sister, Frances Wilfong and a daughter, Kay Flannery.
A private family service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery in Puxico, MO. Pallbearers will be Aaron and Ted Ross, Treyton and Josh Deck, Austin Wilfong, and JD McMahan.
