Jesse Louis Dugger, 96, of Sikeston, passed away January 2, 2026, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. He was born March 2, 1929, in Bronston, KY, the son of William H. and Lyda Foster Dugger.
Jesse worked as a warehouse supervisor at IGA Wetterau in Hazelwood, MO from September 24, 1951, until he retired on September 1, 1991.
Jesse was a licensed minister at Arbor General Baptist Church on September 25, 1948, when he was a member of Berrong General Baptist Church. He was later ordained as a General Baptist Minister as a member of Sturdivant on September 27, 1952, at Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church near Gipsy, at the time as in the Galilee Association. Jesse preached in St. Louis churches and several rural churches in Southeast Missouri. He was an Interim Pastor for the Prospect General Baptist Church in Lake St. Louis for a brief time.
Jesse and Helen Borders were united in marriage on March 29, 1952, in Advance.
Survivors include: his wife, Helen Dugger, a son, Gary (Bev) Dugger of OFallon, a daughter, Carolyn (Dale) McFarland of Sikeston, eight grandchildren, Jenny, Nicky, Tim, Theresa, Chris Sam, Tristina, and Erika, and eight great-grandchildren, Christian, Emmi, Kaiden, Presley, Mary Lou, Charlie, Ellie, and Winnie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Bro. James Hamlett officiating. Burial will follow at Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
