Gary Howard Fischer, 89, of Lowndes, quietly and peacefully passed away at his home on March 1, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born August 19, 1936, at McGee, the son of Earl August and Melba Violet Patterson Fischer.
Gary had a 30-year career as a carpenter. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.
Gary will be remembered for his humor. He was loving, loyal, a bit of a flirt, and delightfully ornery. Above all he was a devoted husband and wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Gary and June Lavoughn Hill were united in marriage on July 26, 1959, at Lowndes and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: his wife, June Fischer, a son, Darryl (Paula) Fischer of Lowndes, a daughter, Angel (Paul) Davis of Sedgewickville, a brother, Larry Fischer of St. Peters, three grandchildren, Jamie Fischer, Cindy Bosse, and Casey (Trent) Copeling, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Brent Fischer and Keith Fischer, four brothers, Jerry, Donald, Bob, and Ray Fischer, two sister, Kathy Martin and Betty Fulton, a great-grandchild, Ricky Taylor.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Larry Underwood and Rev. Danny Walker officiating.
