Liz Bennett, 79, of Zalma, passed away February 9, 2019 at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born March 6, 1939 at Gipsy, MO, the daughter of James F. and Bertha Wallace Burkman.
Liz had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Dongola Friendship Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Liz and Norman Bennett were united in marriage on March 22, 1962 at Arab, MO and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2010.
Survivors include: three sons, Bobby Bennett, Darrell Bennett and Bryan Bennett, all of Zalma three brothers, Paul Burkman of Marble Hill, Evert Burkman and Dale Burkman, both of Zalma three sisters, Mary Trunnell of Shiloh, IL, Evelyn Garner of Advance and Pam Purcell of Frankfort, KY five grandchildren, Kaci Walker, Kalie Payne, Dakota Lawson, Abby Bennett and Ashton Bennett and a great-grandchild, Lydia Payne and Liz was looking forward to the arrival of a great-grandson, Liam Henry Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a son, Randy Bennett two brothers, Buck and Frank Burkman and two sisters, Zora Lowe and Carol Lincoln.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 12, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Weds. February 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery near Zalma, MO.
