Vernon Pruitt Gregory, 87, of Advance, passed away April 20, 2025, at his home. He was born February 14, 1938, in Ben Hur, Arkansas, the son Lem and Velma Shelton Gregory.
Pruitt had been the owner and operator of Gregory Lawn Service for over 30 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Advance.
Pruitt was a hardworking, simple man and never met a stranger.
Pruitt and Becca Young were united in marriage in December 1967, and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2011.
Survivors include: a daughter, Connie (Leo) Enderle of Chaffee, two sons, Ted Masters of Cape Girardeau and Tony (Regina Rainey) Masters of Glen Allen, special friend, Marzella Blessings of Zalma, five grandchildren, Adam Masters, James Masters, Faith Masters, Kristin Enderle, and Katelyn Stephens, and six great-grandchildren, Addison Masters, Bently Jordan, Axton Masters, Remi Masters, Sabrina Bekkali, and Caroline Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held on Wed. April 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev Keith Price officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
