Elonda Faye Borders, 87, of Advance, passed away November 5, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born August 1, 1937, in Senath, MO, the daughter of Morse Alvin and Emma Marie Green Cumpton.
Faye worked for many years at the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance. Later she became an entrepreneur when she began her own home cleaning business. She was a member of the Advance Church of Christ.
Faye was always put together with her hair fixed perfectly and makeup and jewelry on. She loved to shop, attend auctions, go camping and travel to Branson. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Faye was a Donald Trump supporter, who held on until he won the election.
Faye and Jimmy Leroy Borders were united in marriage on July 2, 1983, at the Bell City Church of Christ and he survives of the home.
Survivors include: her husband, Jimmy Borders, two sons, Mike Williams of Columbia, MO and James Borders of Desloge, MO, a daughter, Rhonda Niswonger of Advance, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Steve Williams and a brother, Buddy Cumpton.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Keith Price and Bro. Randy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Balch Cemetery near Zalma, MO.
