Nadine was the youngest of four daughters born to Ruth and John Park. When her mom found out it was another girl, she told the doctor to take her back. Her father said nope that will be my baby girl. Her sister will say that is an understatement. She attended Vanduser High school from which she graduated. She worked at the soda shop close by to save money for a senior trip. When she went on this senior trip, she was entering a hotel when a handsome young man exiting the hotel thru the revolving door. They met got married, and have been going round and round for 59 years, until the death of her husband, Charles Dean Partain on April 30, 2017.
They moved to Tennessee where her husband could attend mortuary school where she worked as a secretary. They continued their journey to Mountain View, Mo. They built a flower shop where Nadine made flower arrangements while her husband was learning the funeral business.
They then moved to Salem, Mo where Nadine was secretary of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, The Sidel Club, Girl scout leader, and room mother for many years.
She was an excellent seamstress making many of daughters clothing because there was not a tall section for girls yet. She was an excellent cook. Always making homemade ice cream because such and such was coming over for ice cream. She canned countless jars of food over the years, especially dill pickles, because the kids wanted that for an after-school snack.
The last stop was Partain Furniture and appliance store. Adding Partain Hardware and Flooring. They decided to retire and sell out. They headed north to Alaska where they would stay for months until Charles health deteriorated, and he started Dialysis.
