James Moeller of Zalma, MO, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 29,2026, in Springfield, IL. He was born in Decatur, IL.
James was the son of the late Lloyd and Willeta Moeller. He was a lifelong Lutheran and spent many years working at Caterpillar, where he built a career through hard work and dedication before retiring and enjoying life in Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sons, Terry and Gary who passed at birth in 1970.
James is survived by his wife, Shirley Moeller, with whom he shared over 36 years of marriage his children, Jimmy Moeller(Judy) of Williamsville, MO, and Lynette Norvell (Daniel) of Evansville, IN his step children, Stephanie Greve of Springfield, IL, Robert Greve (Tisha) of Decatur, IL, and David Greve of Zalma, MO his 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and his brothers, Kenny Moeller(Susie) of Anderson, SC and Dennis Moeller(Linda) of Decatur, IL.
James loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed living in Missouri and took pride in the life he Had built there. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed a chance to follow his team. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope McGee Church Cemetery, 941 State Hwy P, McGee, MO, with a dinner to follow at Shady Dell Church in McGee, MO.
