Mary Lou Johnson, 84, of Advance, passed away September 2, 2024, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born May 14, 1940, in Advance, the daughter of Leonard and Hazel Frances Moore Daniel.
For over 30 years she owned and operated Mary Lous Beauty Shop in Painton. She later worked at Phelps Home Health Care as an in-home health care provider for 15 years. She was a member of the Advance General Baptist Church.
Mary Lou enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, doing needlepoint and crocheting.
Mary Lou and Ray Johnson were united in marriage on July 27, 1957, in Charleston, MO and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2017.
Survivors include: nephews, Mark Griffin, Lonnie Daniel, Ronnie and Dennis Estes and nieces, Felicia Powers, Danielle Farrow, Selena Birkman and Trina Pennington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Lynn and Danny Gramlisch, her parents, brother, Denzil Daniel, and three sisters, Irene Lizenbee, Morti-Jean Estes and Brenda Sue Fogargy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Wayne Page officiating. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery in Marble Hill.
