Hazel V. Garner, 91, of Advance, passed away January 19, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 22, 1928 in Marble Hill, MO, the daughter of Robert Lee and Opal Francis Woodfin.
Hazel had been a homemaker. She was an avid quilter, gardener and canner. She was known for her delious chicken and dumplings. She also had a servants heart.
Hazel was a member of the Little Valley Baptist Church in Marble Hill, MO.
Hazel and Troy D. Garner were united in marriage on September 9, 1944 in Bollinger County, MO and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2018.
Survivors include: two sons, Denzel (Shirley) Garner of Ballwin, MO and Kenneth (Marilyn) Garner of Knoxville, TN a brother, Gale Woodfin of Cape Girardeau a sister, Darlene Kirkpatrick of OFallon, MO eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents a daughter, Angela Freeman and three brothers.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 25, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Little Valley Baptist Church near Marble Hill. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. PJ Null officiating. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park in Marble Hill, MO. Morgan Funeral Home in Advance is in charge of all arrangements.
