James Charles JC Powers, 89, of Advance, passed away May 29, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born April 8, 1934, in Malden, MO, the son of True Victor and Wilma Gladys Bryant Powers.
JC retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years and served in the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Advance First Baptist Church.
JC and Wanda Lou Green were united in marriage on September 17, 1993, at Advance, she preceded him in death on May 23, 2015.
Survivors include: three sons, James V. Powers of Daytona Beach, FL, Ricky Jo Powers of Starke, FL and Brian Lee Powers of Poplar Bluff, MO a daughter, Pamela Ann Malzman of Tyler, TX a brother, Chester Powers of Advance 10 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents his wife three sisters five brothers and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Eric Shrum officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.
