Dennis Wayne Crader, 71, of Advance, passed away July 25, 2023, at his home. He was born March 16, 1952, in Advance, the son of Robert Bob and Christine Berrong Crader.
Dennis was a 1970 graduate of Advance High School. He then graduated from the Nashville Auto Diesel College. From 1962-2000, he worked at his familys business, Crader Oil Company in Advance.
He had been a member of Brownwood General Baptist Church serving as a deacon from 1991-2011. Later he became a member of the First Baptist Church of Wappappello. He had also been a member of the Lions Club and the Advance Jaycee.
Dennis had been a proud firefighter with the Advance Fire Department from 1980-2002, for over 10 years he served as Fire Chief.
He was a classic cars enthusiast. He enjoyed showing his classic Camaros in Classic Car Competitions. He won countless awards and trophies at these contests. He also loved fishing.
Dennis and Barbara Payne were united in marriage on December 18, 1971, at Brownwood, MO and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Crader; two sons, Jason (Jodi) Crader of Advance and Tim (Nikki) Crader of Advance; four grandsons, Brendan (Aly) Crader, Garrett Crader, Damion Crader and Dominic Crader, all of Advance; nephew, Alan Scott (Gail) Payne of Advance; two nieces, Tammy (Joe) Dean of Karnack, TX and Carol Payne of Tyler, TX and a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Richard Blagg and Rev. Scott Payne. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
