Jackie Evon Johnson, 66, of Painton, MO, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 22, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Jackie was born on September 30, 1958, to Gerald and Zelma (Norris) Bridwell. She married Michael Ray Johnson on December 17, 1976, at Bell City Methodist Church, beginning a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
She dedicated 42 years of service to the Bank of Advance, where she retired as VP/FSR Officer and CSR Manager, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and customers alike. A devoted member of Advance Methodist Church, Jackie actively participated in several committees, always offering her time and talents to support her community. She found joy in gardening, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. She will be remembered for her generous and caring spirit as she helped organize numerous fundraisers for family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Ray, and their two sons: Michael John (Elisa) Johnson of Advance and Chad (Merete) Johnson of Havertown, PA. She was a cherished grandmother to Liam, Jack, Lily Belle, Sawyer, Tucker, Soren, and Solveig.
Jackie is also survived by her siblings: Gerald (Betty) Bridwell Jr. of Benton, Laddie (Annette) Bridwell of Chaffee, Cyndi Baldwin of Scott City, Lance (Anna) Bridwell of Chaffee, Azalea (Kendell) Black of Germantown, TN, Sena (John) Odom of Scott City, and Dayneen (David) Glastetter of Chaffee. She leaves behind many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Azalea Marie Bridwell, and brothers-in-law Bob Baldwin and Kurt Kamp.
A visitation will be held at Advance Methodist Church on Saturday, March 29, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. A brief graveside service will take place at Morgan's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Missouri Food Bank or St. Judes Childrens Hospital, two causes close to Jackies heart.
