Shirley Jean Kalinski, 92, of Advance, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2026, at Aspire Senior Living. She was born May 18, 1933, in Advance, the daughter of Paul and Francis Geneva Snyder Corbin.
Shirley was a graduate of Advance High School. She was united in marriage to Frank Thomas Kalinski on September 14, 1951. She and Frank moved to Henderson, Kentucky before returning to Advance in 1969, where they took over operating the Ben Franklin store following her parents retirement. She worked side by side with Frank for many years, dedicating herself to the business until they retired. She had a love for travel and cherished wintering in Clewiston, Florida, where she enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved and adored her family and especially spending time with her great-grandson.
Survivors include: her son and daughter -in-law, Tom and Cindy Kalinski of Advance, grandchildren, Dustin and Brook Kirby Kalinski of Advance, great-grandson, Blake Kalinski of Advance, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheryl Lee Kalinski in 1968, husband, Frank Kalinski in 1998, mother, Geneva Corbin in 1999, father, Paul Corbin in 2016, and sister, Carol McFerron on February 25, 2026.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
