Minnie Jean Whitener, 92, of Wentzville, MO, passed away May 30, 2023, at her home. She was born September 2, 1930, in Gipsy, MO, the daughter of Allen and Jessie Lou Gilland Porter.
Minnie spent her life as a homemaker. She believed in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time at the Senior Center with her friends.
Minnie and Cleo Whitener were united in marriage on October 31, 1948, in Piggott, AR and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1986.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary Whitener of St. Charles, MO and Roger Whitener of Wentzville, MO a daughter, Peggy Tracy of Branson, MO nine grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a daughter, Patricia Ainlery three brothers, Dale, Bob, and Frank Porter and three sisters, Dora Holt, Nora Strickland and Dorothy Myers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery in Gipsy, MO.
